Pythagorean Numerology
The Pythagorean System of numerology is said to have originated
from the Greek mathematician Pythagoras of Samos. He was born in
580 B.C. He studied the systems of India, Arabia, Persia, Palestine,
Phoenicia, Chaldea, Babylon, and Egypt. Pythagoras is best known
for his solution to the hypotenuse of a right triangle.
The underlying premise of Chaldean numerology is that every letter
has a unique vibration. Numbers are assigned to letters based on the
vibrational value. In the Pythagorean System of numerology letters
are assigned a number by their position in a sequence.
Letters are assigned numeric values from 1 to 9.

The Chaldean System of numerology has its roots in Ancient Babylon. This system is related to the
Vedic System of India and the Kabbalah System of the Hebrew mystics.
The underlying premise of Chaldean numerology is that every letter has a unique vibration. Numbers
are assigned to letters based on the vibrational value. In the Pythagorean System of numerology
numbers are assigned by sequence.
Letters are assigned numeric values from 1 to 8.

NOTE: some Chaldean Systems of numerology require that each component of the name be analyzed
separately in case one of the names equates to a Master Number. For example, if the first name equates to
the Master Number '11', this number is then added to the sum of the last name.
The Pythagorean System has largely replaced the Chaldean System.

The Numerology Calculator will use either the Pythagorean or Chaldean System to perform calculations. To

CALCULATION EXAMPLE
This is an example of the Pythagorean System of numerology. The same procedure would be followed with
Chaldean System.

Vowels: 6 1 7 6 6 3 1

EXAMPLE:  J O H N R A Y M O N D K O S T U R A
Constants: 1 8 5 9 4 5 4 2 1 2 9

Vowels: 6+1+7+6+6+3+1 = 30 (3+0 = 3)
Constants: 1+8+5+9+4+5+4+2+1+2+9 = 50 (5+0 = 5)
Name Total: 30+50 = 80 (8+0 = 8)

NOTE: the letter "Y" can be treated as either a vowel or a constant. The program permits you to choose
how a "Y" is calculated.
Simply adding the two digits together reduces double-digit sums. This process is continued until the result
is a singe digit number.
Example: 36 (3+6=9) 9

Adding the third digit to the first two digits reduces triple digit sums. This will result in a two-digit number.
These two digits are reduced as in the above example.
Example: 127 (12+7=19); 19 (1+9=10); 10 (1+0=1) 1
